Hello!
My name is Mariesa de la Rosa. I am an artist living along Canada's West Coast in the beautiful city of Victoria.
I really enjoy drawing and making stories of characters on my free time. I especially love stories where characters go through emotional journeys and exploring how they grow. Sometimes to better understand a character, I will try out a hobby of theirs -like doll making or dessert recipe for research.
As for my art background, it has also been a journey. I graduated from the Visual Arts Diploma Program in 2008. In 2012, from the same college, I completed the Comics & Graphic Novel Program. But in 2025, I decided to take a chance with a scholarship in hand to the Classical Animation Program at the Vancouver Film School.
Between my studies in Victoria, I have been working in retail while saving my creative energies on the side. For awhile, I was also teaching piano for beginners and occasionally art classes in a small studio. But after a work injury that left me unable to draw for a year followed by pandemic soon after, it definitely gave me time to reflect and put what I really enjoyed and what is important to me in perspective while making ends meet.
The dream was to one day to one day work on a big animated feature and see my name in the credit roll. And after completing my time at the Vancouver Film School, I feel that making that dream come is one step closer.
